In December 2018, when we had been creating YT content for four years, Ben spent about 80 hours a week for 6 weeks going through FOUR TB of footage on our hard drives. He partnered with Curators he found on BlackBox to help him tip and tail all of our clips as well as apply the appropriate metadata and we now have over 1400 video clips for sale on BlackBox. This one time effort generates residual revenue every time someone likes a video clip we have for sale and purchases it. The clips can be sold over and over again to different buyers and every month BlackBox direct deposits our earnings. They host our uploaded content across FIVE stock footage websites on the internet. The breakdown goes likes this. BlackBox and the stock footage site each take a cut and then since we used curators, we split our earnings with them 60/40 (60% to us, 40% to the curator(. The cut each party takes is worth it for us to be able to manage all of the footage from one central location, not having to upload and manage across each stock footage platform. The use of a curator allowed us to upload those 1400 clips in about a 90-120 day window, something we couldn't have accomplished on our own and now those clips are for sale on the web for years to come. If you don't have content of your own that you can upload, but you do have editing software on your computer and an eye for detail, consider becoming a curator and sharing in the wealth of those who have banks of stock footage they need to get online.
